Historically, the US created many harmful pieces of kitchenware throughout the atomic era. Fiestaware is one of the few companies who used depleted uranium to color their ceramic glaze. At the time, they did not know the repercussions and detrimental effects of radiation on the overall health of person. Depleted uranium glaze is now illegal to manufacture, making this a historic piece of the Atomic Era in the USA.
